Given the fact all you guys reside in the UK wouldn't it be more realistic to compare queuing times ?
Wonder if the M is any slower queuing than an S.....

they may well have done

in between squeezing zits

but I believe the S2000 is a six second 0-60 car

I think the testers have to be brutal with the S2000 to get these quick times ...... probably the reason the clutch on the one Evo tested was fecked.

yes, we've had loads of discussions about ' launching' before iirc

probaly best to accept a range or average, rather than insist on a specific time

50m is a big gap.
well it felt like a big gap ime

154bhp/ton in the BMW, 191 in the Honda (just a stat i thought i'd throw in)
there's a big gap too..

assuming linear accellaration and ignoring increased drag at speed (all invalid in the real world I know but hey ho)

distance = t v(mean)

now the v mean can be considered half the max speed with the start being 0

so the S2000

100 mph = 161km/h

so mean speed

80.5km/h = 1341m/min (just under a mile a min)

1341m/min = 22.36m/s

14 x 22.36 = 313m (less than a quarter mile of 400m)

so this proves that the accellaration is not linear i guess

now if the bmw reaches 100mph in 18s it's speed will be 14/18ths of 100 at the 14s mark
or 77mph....

so mean speed is half that, 38.5mph,

62km/h = 1033m/min

17.2m/s

241m

of course this might be representative even if it's not accurate.. alternatively someone could plot a graph? perhaps some powerpoint presentation..

or ssb could bring his 330 to me..

or we could just agree to disagree .. like we do on everything else
