Aww man, can I come to your next bbq. I'd just take the p all evening.
i've got to live next door to him..

you'll have to pretend the other neighbour invited you?

he runs a roofing firm. quite a nice bloke but if you gave him the keys to an enzo he'd say "i can't get the kids in that"

i'd love to be his contact at the BMW dealer though.. he probably pays over book

My mate got spanked pretty bad by one and he was in his M3. Although the 535 had been remapped or soemthing along those lines.

I remember a similar experience when I had my BBR Cooper S, although I beat the beamer he was a sport and gave me the thumbs up, looked confused though (It was completely standard on the outside apart from the 220 odd horses hidden under the bonnet)

My old man had that done to his, DMS remap liberated 340bhp, 500lb torque IIRC.

It felt brain warpingly quick but im sure inertia had something to do with that aswell!

My slant on this is that you'll meet a to$$er driving most types of car if you cross enough of them.To say that every BMW driver is a muppet is a bit short sighted.I mean, you might even come across an S2000 driver who is less than perfect( but I doubt it hey??!!)

As for the guy who says his 330i is a rocket, perhaps it's objective.Maybe it's a rocket to him.Who knows what he had before? At best I'd say the S2000 is nippy, certainly not truly fast, nor a rocket either.

Interesting thread though people..

it's a good point.. i guess it's about awareness, i've always had 'pokey' cars, hot hatches and the like and I'd like to think i always realised their place in the pecking order..

the bmw is no more than that. a hot hatch contender.. it's not a sports car in any way judging by today

as for re-mapped bmw diesels.. you can remap any turbo... but a diesel will still weigh
200kg more than the petrol.. not good for dynamics as any elise owner will tell you.. your mate in the M3 must've screwed up or met a monster tuned one though AB.

i shudder to think the day i'm driving a tractor

The 335i is actually meant to be a stonker
I've read somewhere the the 335 is supposed to be close to the current M3.

Which means the new M3 will be wet your pants good in order to maintain the required step up that denotes the M series.
