BTCC amusement

One of Luton's finest........just without the livery, roll cage and angry Scotman's behind the wheel.

Seeing cars racing around a track that you normally see on the road gave the series much greater appeal. Much like World and British Superbikes. Sure the cars and bikes on track are poles apart from the showroom models on which they are based, but they look the same once you peel the stickers off.
So in a ten year olds mind that make your Dad's saloon car a race car
That would be one I sat in a couple of times, Stationary and off but interesting all the same.
JC and Warwick had an interesting relationship when team mates at Vauxhall, everything had to be different between them, ie Cleland's gearshift lever pulled back to shift up so Warwick demanded his went the other way, still all was nicey/nicey for the press and public back then. Unless Steve Soper was about.

Being an old fart, my 'Touring car my dad had' go back a bit further;

Dad was also working for Nat West at the time and had an 'Access' card (advert on the door) when most people had no idea what a credit card was, so seeing the V12 Broadspeed Jags at Donington just made my mind boggle. Started my obsession with racing there and then in the mid '70s.
