I thought AMD had folded

Nice car Andy, I'd driven Jo's S3 for quite a while, I know what you mean about the difference to the S.

Nice car, reminds me of my old one, pretty much the same but I had the silver mirrors, which were solid back in the day... unlike the plastic coated ones on the new S3.

A couple of things to check:

- Make sure it has got the updated coil packs. Otherwise you might just randomly break down as thousands of VAG cars did / still do!

- Brakes - they are crap and cannot cope with the weight of the car. If you do lots of spirited driving or track it, beware. I set mine on fire a couple of times and I never tracked it.

The worst part of the car is the numb steerng and high driving position, other than that I really liked it.

Considering getting the new S3 next.

I really like the chunky look of that model S3 - still looks very purposeful and muscly today

Very nice

Same age as my little Kitty (also known as slurpy due to the reg plate!)

Only major problems I had were the dreaded coil packs, and a problem when one of the radiator fans disintegrated at le mans !!!!

I always enjoyed it, and a friend still has one the same age, you certainly feel quite special in it for some reason - quite a plush interior

Just waiting for Mark B to appear now

I didnt know about the coils.......something to look forward too then

I actually thought the driving pos was ok, highish but nothing on a clio sport - also thought the brakes were quite good. This car wont go that far let alone anywhere near a track.

AMD have gone to Essex due to the takeover - Ill be going to MRC I think.

Just been doing some research on AmD and it sounds like they went down the tubes quite some time ago, only to be bought out by another outfit and moved to Essex!

Crikey - it's all fun in the world of tuners isn't it!
