Can't stop thinking about 360 modenas
I was pleasantly surprised by it, not expecting to like it at all.
However, like Kelk says - 2k a year on servicing (minimum) and a new clutch every 10k !!!!!!!!!!!
On that basis alone I discounted it - it would have to be something VERY special to warrant that basic expenditure (plus consumables etc.) and I'm not sure it was THAT great !

regarding costs, simply remember that these are cars made for very rich people
just because the rich people move on and the cars become affordable to middle incomers
does not mean runnning costs will fall in proportion - if anything they will increase as the cars age and things wear out
criticism of the running costs is therefore unfair
yes, you can get similar performance from such modified cars or quasi kit cars
and so can just about anyone else
complexity and exclusivity usually costs

Are they any good?
I've been in one and it was fast, but felt a bit big.
Anyone owned one? Scare me off with costs please.

Everyone thinks of these sort of cars but owning one is a diff matter. The servicing alone would cripple most people (Gad excluded as he is rich).

Plenty around here.
If money in any way concerns you do not buy
Unless you want a much older car and a gamble
Of the bunch, a 328 is very good and feels surprisingly modern
If you want a scare story (on depreciation) try this
57 F430 Spyder 2500 miles. Every conceivable extra inc. cat flap and dog basket, etc.
Cost new

And run it for the same price as something cobbled together in a glorified shed out of Ford bits and old bits of plastic
It's no different to buying a wreck of a stately home for a knock-down price, then complaining it costs you

Depends on where you live if you want exclusivity with a Ferrari.
Plenty around here.
Plenty around here.
IME modern Ferraris are only common in Beckhamesque chav land
I can only think of two that I see occasionally around here

I know of seven 360/ 430 around here.
2 of them belong to a friend.
I also know of someone who has TWO Bugatti Veyron.
There are fewer S2000's around here.

But no, (surprisingly) not new money in point of fact.
But still chav'esque.
