Default Car dilemma

Another one! Thought i'd think out loud on this one, as these topics are always good fun.

So the current stable is a GT3 and tweaked S2000.

GF is coming back from abroad, and i'm wokring in the UK again from next year. Big changes. So one of the cars has to be replaced The issue is that if I kept the S, the GF would have to drive it and it's not really ideal for that as i'd want it set up for the track season next year. GT3 isn't an ideal car for pottering around and doing the shopping in, and she'd definitely bash it 3 cars isn't an option as we don't do many miles and it would be a waste.

So either the GT3 goes in favour of something less precious / more practical, which we can both drive, like a nice E92 M3 or GTR...

Or the S goes, I track the GT3 and replace it with something like this (in black)

Hmmmm.... Any ideas?

The amount you would lose selling either of them would pay for a car the girlfriend would like-buy her a mini fidget arse

Option 2. GT3's are built for the track. However the more practical side of me says you will have much less depreciation on the GT3, and therefore can sell without losing money on it. I'll give you £5k for it.

Your missus drive a GT-R? Are you aware of how friggin HUGE they are. Not a shopping car. E9x M3 a good idea.

What happened to the 197?

Sell the S and the bleached beetle and scratch that Aston itch

Hire a proper track car for the track, any half road/race car is going to be a compromise.

Plenty of women manage (well, sort-of) to drive Q7s, X5s, Cayennes and so on, so a 5-series-sized GTR isn't going to be much of a problem.

Having said that, it's pretty hard to enjoy cars with that level of performance on the road (certainly in the the south and east of England), so something with less performance but more fun makes more sense to me.

i used to snigger at people who said that.
more recently i see where their coming from. i've found the S becoming more restrictive on the road now

This is true

This one isn't a cost decision though, it's a practicality. I'd love to have 3 cars again, and it is one answer I can then mod the bollocks out of the S, keep the GT3 and have a runaround.... But I'd like to stick with 2.

Chilled, yep, it's big, driven a few now but a box I'd like to tick, and I'd not be too precious about a used 45k one with a few miles on it. Think I'd enjoy the M3 more though.

Heart is saying bye bye S2000 ATM!

Well, if you can only do 101 through Craner with all those modifications, then you definitely need to keep the faster car for trackdays

I did Craner at 170mph in my S2000 on bald Nexxen tyres...

Agreed. And why I have bought yet another S. After having owned much faster (and way more expensive) cars, I just like how I can rag the S (and enjoy the high RPM snarl!) and still not be going all that fast relatively speaking. And for me; the S2000 is right up there as one of the very best naturally aspirated engines ever made. And still relatively small capacity and light. OK; so predictable maybe (given this is the S2K forum), but I'd strive to keep the S. What else can give that much fun for relatively little money? Of course, status is very low priority to me and I appreciate that that isn't (reasonably enough) the case for many other folks.
Likely of no help, but I've posted anyway! Good luck with whatever you decide (-:
