Car Tax. Value for money?
Had a surprise throuhg the post this morning, a new tax disc. Valid for the same 12 months as the one I go through the post the week before last.
It seems that the DVLA are running a two for the price of one promotion at the moment, thanks to a "glitch" in the online car tax renewal system. Their advice is to hold on to the second disc and they'll write to everyone affected to advise them what to do. How many of these duplicate discs are going to find their way onto other cars through sales in dodgy pubs?

what tax IS worth the money?
corrupt, inefficient, budget driven policing?
laughably expensive (when you're not paying for it) local government?
rubbish public services
a hopelessly out of date health service
car tax is a drop in the ocean.. at least for my 2001

In what circumstances do I have to display a tax disc?
You forgot the rule about trade plates BTW.

Shouldn't have to display a tax disc is what I suspect Hyper meant?
What with ANPR and the tax and insho all logged at DVLA it does seem a archaic requirement.
