A challenge
you may laugh
I may take the engine out and drop the shell off on a trailer if I can find the right buyer for the lump
nowhere does the agreement say anything about the car being driveable when I hand it over - or complete
just that it must have tax, mot and insurance (it will have), it's of a certain age (it is) and I must have owned it for at least 12 months (I have)

By removing items off the car, you are essentially modifying it.
If you want to be sure that you are 100% insured when you drive it to the dealer (if you don't opt for the trailer), then you will have to declare the modifications to you insurer.

the engine I would accept, but that would rather necessitate a trailer
or I could dismantle the car in the dealer's car park on the Sunday before trade in...
That would be funny...
I was gonna suggest ensuring the dealer's was at the bottom of a hill - funny how he wouldn't hear you arrive!
PS; just remember the brake servo won't function. Probably becaause you'd flogged it.

Karens dad is scrapping his old motor for a new Polo. He's just had a hip replacement so is delaying delivery.
I helped him out with the rules last month.

Anyway-
Can I remove anything from the vehicle before it is scrapped?
Only personal accessories can be removed. You may not remove tyres or the battery or add any additional waste
Russ.
