I still say (from experience) that any Elise will leave the S behind untill
you get on a long strech.

And the more twisty the road or full of roundabouts then even more so.

But saying all that I love my S and I dont really see the Lotus and the
Honda in the same sector.

R39H, you are 100% correct if we are talking traffic light GP's here. My mate has an S reg elise 120bhp, 730kg and its modded with an exhaust and I.K (seems to make a difference). Off the line he toasts me unless I get my start 100% perfect. From any rolling start the S2000 starts to pull away instantly and particularly so above 80mph. Now I've added my exhaust (to even the field) it would be even more of a difference but his is off the road because he can't afford to run it just now after a

If I swapped it would be as a track weapon. Need to check the cost of supercharging it now... Although I wouldn't be looking until at least next year. Maybe the Exige S would be a viable s/h buy by then.
JCT has an Exige day tomorrow mate

The standard model is 'ok' it handles like a dream, but as others have said it just doesn't feel that fast.

The S version made my stomach hit my spine..no really it did....

BB or Kelk, do you have an exhaustive list of differences between the 111R and the S2 Exige?
I drove the Exige S and the only real difference was fatter rubber at the front, the supercharger over my shoulder and a roof above my head.

The Ex feels more purposeful than the liz, don't get me wrong the liz is very dynamic in corners etc etc but you have to remember that the Exige S is the fastest Lotus they have ever made. To be that car from essentially so little they have given it all to the driver and lost a little bit of the grin factor.

My choice came down to what made me smile the most and my heart said Elise, can't explain it more than that really

In terms of how they drive, there's nothing in it between the S2 Exige and 111R. I would actually say my car was quicker than the Exige I drove down to Wigtown in.

The Exige is really only better than the 111R when it comes to high speeds. The Elise roof does cause a lot of drag above 120mph, whereas in the Exige it just flows straight over.

Russ,

Just out of interest why did you change from the Elise to the S?

well since asked (Bada Bing) i decided not to change to a VXT as my driveway is rather narrow, and getting in over that sill would be nearly impossible.... however the rumoured white limited edition S2K sounds like my cup of tea

John, the ex girlfriend hated the Liz and had two young daughters.

We lived about 15 miles apart.

She only had an old Escort so we decided to buy an Audi TT225 coupe,
it was ideal as the kids could just fit in the back.

Anyway not long after that we split up. Now it wasn't a bad motor but had dull handling.

So I looked at Lotus again, also tested VX Turbos (so nearly bought one)
and the S2000. In the end the reliability reports swung it.

But funny enough my first S2000 was a nightmare.

When I discovered this Forum I soon realised the 'surveys' are
ahem....lets say manipulated !!
