Default Clio 197

Looking at getting one as a daily driver for the Mrs as she likes nippy little cars. 5-6K seems to pick up a low mileage 07 now. She likes comforts so the Cup is out.

Anyone owned one on here? I know people who have had Méganes of a similar age and have had nothing but issues. Have Renault upped their game?

Other option is a Corsa VXR.

Just had a quick search and seen that a few of you have had them and rate them as a lot of fun.

She'd have way more fun in an EP3 CTR like the one I'll be selling in a few weeks....

I came on here to start a new thread to ask the same question!

I found this link to their version of this forum, in which someone has worked out how much its cost him since he owned it. looks like he'd done a few track days, which will make the car costing a bit more than if it was a daily driver but makes interesting reading. If someone has some similar data for an S2000 it would make for an interesting comparison. I saw one a while ago but wasn't quite as detailed.

I enjoyed my 197, but I wouldn't have one over a Civic R.

A french car of that age comes with issues i imagine

i had a citroen xsara vts (is that the quick one?) and it was a pos, ate brake discs, noisy at speed and felt like it was made of balsa wood and paper.

Mate had a 182 and it had quite a few repairs and used to kick out a big puff of blue smoke on start..
