Clio V6
Ade, true it shares the badge but not much esle.
The engine is in the back and its a 3 litre V6. Ok the exterior and interior is based on the Clio but not a huge amount else engineering wise.
THe TG time was a wet lap btw and on the pace of an Aston and the Elise 111R.
Not bad I would say... The video footage on the TG track looked to be very pacy.
Ge2 - its a fettled Lancer

Thought the Carisma was the new Lancer?
I remember reading somewhere that you could count the parts it had in common with the Evo on your fingers

Haven't owned one but I have been out a few times in a colleague's one and found the seating position to be odd. You sit very high up compared to other sports cars to the point where going from the VX to the V6 felt like riding on top of a dumper truck
The MkII is definitely the one to go for as the handling has been refined and I think a few reliability issues were addressed. The major problem the MkII has is availability of spare parts. Clutches and gearboxes tend to take ages to arrive from France so your chariot can be marooned in a dealer for weeks. That was the only real gripe from my colleague and he loves driving his, despite the weird seating arrangement
I guess if your car needs a new gearbox under warranty (and a fair few have) then you're having a pants time anyway and the time off the road isn't so significant... Perhaps the real question is can you get a decent MkII for a sensible price with some warranty left?

Good info both.
It looks like quite a big price divide between a MKI and II.
Im wondering exactly what suspension tweaks were made? I guess im hinting at buying a MKI cheap and sorting the suspension, and some ECU work to get the power of the MKII...
Prob not a goer on the suspension front though.
