Comfy car
Have you tried a late 7th gen accord / or 8th gen accord.
2.0 petrol has a fair bit of poke and they are comfortable..i ruined my L1 and S3 vertibre when i was 18 and comfortable seats is my number 1 for a car now.
I own a 7th gen accord and i have driven over 400 miles in a day and not felt any aches or pains during or after the drive.
Seriously consider a car with cruise control too as this makes driving much more comfortable

thanks Adam..
We are taking a diesel Insignia or similar down south, it's all I could lay my hands on for decent money at short notice. I think Accord may be too big for her but will take a look.
It's difficult as I don't find her Golf a harsh ride and she seems to take a while to understand whether it's not comfy so some long test drives required I guess

It strikes me that we happily change the seats on our boy toys cars: couldn't you fit a special 'ortho' seat into whatever car you otherwise would want rather than buy a sh*t heap you don't like because it has a magic seat? Come to think, would an Accord or Legend seat transfer easily?
The other thing is, is this a posture thing as well? I dunno if they are still around but in the '80s I worked in a software house and one of the guys had a dodgy back and swore by this straddle seat, looked a bit like one of those shoe-fitters jobbies? This thing made him keep a good upright posture which did the trick and I think his was a lower back weakness.

It's not always easy, since the mounting points are different and some of the seat functions may run through the Bus - seat belt nannies & side air bags.
I have an Ergohuman office chair, which is bloody uncomfortable but prevents back ache - I seem to require daft amounts of lumbar support.
Maybe it'll be back to the '80s & sticking Recaros in everything.
