This was the first VTEC Honda I ever went in. I love them, buts its a car I have never owned.
Id would always look for a JDM model over the UK ones as the UK ones ALL seem so rusty now! The guy who rents the unit next door to me has one in there stripped down! Not sure what he is doing with it actually!

I've had 3 over the years an E reg (white), followed by a J reg V-tec (Celestial Blue), then a G reg (Red/pre V-tec facelift model) a few years back.
Moving from the non V-Tec to V-tec model (which was about a year old when i bought it) tbh I didn't find the v-tec any quicker or handled any better.
All were in excellent condition and the 2nd had to be sold for our imminent 1st child. Promised myself I'd get another some day, so when time came round I plumped for a pre V-tec facelift model. This had a slightly nicer interior/different seats and slightly revised front bumper & rear light cluster IIRC. Think maybe the exhaust might have been slightly different aswell but I couldn't be sure.
Apparently they all tend to rust around the sunroof these days.
Tremendous little cars, which just needed power steering if you had anything other than standard wheels/tyres.

Surprised Whaninoz hasn't jumped on this, he's had 3!
All I do remember him saying is to get one with a D series engine and do a turbo conversion for a out £500...and it still does 30mpg!

I had a Silver 16v (non VTEC)
then a white 16v Si (jap import) with glassroof, power steering and AC
then a Black Sir (VTEC jap import) with glass roof and all the gubbins, LSD, tein coilovers and HKS exhaust
then a red 16v with 60k on the clock, 2 owners from new (before me)...but that had too much rust after stripping it down so it was sold to someone who had the time to do the work....i think he broke it in the end though.
As the other have said, get the plastics off and check for rusty sills, also the boot floor tends to get soem holes in it.
look on the forum to see how to read the ECU error codes as this can show some easy repairs that are handy for negotiations ( i saved £700 on one buy)
they are great cars and as said can be tuned very easily, or a engine replacement is cheap (compared to an s2000 anyway, so a turbo or B20 could be dropped in for soem nice power.
I would love either of my import ones back.

CRXs are great cars to drive. When the Cyber CRX (Gen II) came out, they were probably the best handling FF car around. Rust is a major issue on these cars unfortunately. If you can buy a garage queen for reasonable money, I think it will be a good buy compared to what is on offer for the money these days. Get the V-Tec version.

I'm going to view a pre facelift D reg car this weekend. It has a tidy interior and needs a bit of work around the arches. It has a turbo kit already fitted. I quite like this shape as it was the car that first attracted me to the Honda brand.
