CTR is here!
Sad to say, but I don't think this generation CTR will sell like the last one did.
(Wrongly IMO) thousands will be put off by the fact it 'only' has 201 horses when other manufacturers are learning from the sales success of the last CTR and vying to have the most bhp on the block.
Regardless of how stiff it is, and the fact you can specify it without a parcel shelf (
how are they going to put 27" speakers in the back if they don't have a parcel shelf), many will look at 201bhp and plump for an Astra.

I wish it had the huge brakes that were on the concept. I don't think it is heavy when you compare it to the clio 197 they weigh about the same. Also I think they are similarily priced and that interior looks like that of a spaceship very nice.

The look of the thing will help, despite the granny-ish looks of the old CTR, it sold well, the space-age looks of the new one will likely appeal to its core market.
There is a large of number of people who love their existing CTR and will automatically upgrade to the new one.
No doubt the Astra will do well, but I don't see it impacting upon the sales of the CTR as it appeals to a slightly different market, particularly the company car market. I reckon most people who own CTRs are private buyers.
...and finally, the Clarkson factor. He's already slated the Astra because of its "torque steer" - go on most motoring fora and you'll see that bandied about endlessly - and he'll probably give a good verdict to the CTR because it's a Honda.

That's quite staggering.
So it's probably safe to consider the new CTR is the least crap car of its genre, then.

Er small problem....its bloody ugly. It looks like a badly done up Peugeot 206.
The current CTR looks reasonable (IMO), but that thing looks bad.
...or maybe its my age !!
