The original model that made its debut at the Geneva show looks 10 times better than the one that being unvieled at the Paris show.

The one going on sale looks

However both look like they fell out of a cornflake box, a chav magnet

I think I must be wrong, but when the new CTR appeared in all the motorshows the Honda marketing said the main reason for it having the same power was that they managed to lower kerb weight from the last model... obviously complete bollox then
You're not wrong.

The Honda press release speaks of reinforced crossmembers etc, so by the time they'd actually developed it, the computer guesstimates were incorrect.

Viz power, dunno what you all expect. 100bhp/litre's pretty good.

Of course, they could drop in the K23 (Turbo) for 240 BHP.

Shares in Bridgestone, anyone?

There won't be a Type RR with more power, that rumour was referring to a lightweight variant that will be sold in Japan only.

Also, Type RR is the stupidest name for anything ever. Well... after the Nintendo Wii...

Why?

CBR900RR sounds good to me?

Nissan Cedric's far dafter.

Mazda Bongo Friendee?

Is it me or does this seem to be a bit of a hack job like the Lotus Europa?

Reading that marketing tripe just said to me, "This is a new shape 5 door Civic, but with 3 doors, the engine from the old Civic, and some flashy lights. We can't be bothered to do the job properly, but you'll buy this because it's new."

I'm betting that it will drive the same as the old CTR, as the increased curb weight will have been compensated for by the gearing and lower V-Tec point.

So why buy a new one if you have an old one?

So in summary, no more power, more weight, torsion beam suspension and still no slipper? It'll sell like hotcakes
They've reduced the weight in true TypeR thinking, over the last version..... but

The comments on the increased kerb weight puzzle, all the speak I've heard prior to this is all about weight loss.....
