Thanks for the diagram.

I'll let you know what they say tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure it won't need a complete respray - just a couple of panels.

I want another DC2 but the wife is not so keen... she reckons it looks like a chav / boys car now and will not sit well on the drive...

I had a little look on PH yesterday after reading this thread and decided that I need to get another, £3k seems enough to bag a high miler and as a little bit of fun (have no need for a daily driver), I might have to give one another go. I vowed to get another the day my old one drive itself away in the hands of its new owner. Best car I ever had? quite probably.

Just order the Acura badges from the US & tell her it's premium!

TBH, there isn't any car that doesn't have a serious image problem these days - even if that's no image at all.

Looks like I'm going to give this one a miss, it's at least a four hour round trip for a car that is more than likely going to be more to fix than I want to spend, would have taken a chance if not for the clear coat.
A big thank you for all the info, I only thought about it as it looked cheap but I might just keep my eyes peeled for another one now.

If anyone in the Edinburgh area is interested it's sitting at a Mitsubishi dealer, the ad is on Pistonheads.

Wrong wheels too. The ride on these is hard enough on 15s, you don't want to put 16/17s on a DC2

If you fancy one, it's definitely worth it to keep looking. Such great cars

If that's genuine mileage and unmodified that's worth £3295 all day long.

FYI I sold a teg with accident damage and an engine that started to rattle like feck on the day of sale to a dealer for £2500 cash (and he heard the engine). It had faded panels and 140k on the clock.

Get that for £3k, change the wheels and forget about the paint. You won't get a better car for £3k.

Even I'm tempted by that bugger.

Rota now do fake wheels in the right size; despite the slag, they're probably no more shit than BMW wheels.

EKs & 'Tegs work best on UK roads on 15" - it was part of teh dumb & dumber fad to increase the size and anyone with any discernment wo experimented rapidly returned to the original.

The paint may be a bit candlewick duvet, but it does seem a fair price for it.

What amazes me is the price they want for DC5s still! Anyone would think it wasn't retrograde compared to the DC2.

I remember trying that DC5. Turned up in the DC2 and the dealer selling it said "you won't buy the DC5." Took me out for a drive and said, "you'll get back in your DC2 to drive home and instantly dismiss the idea of getting a DC5." How right he was.

DC2s are the bargain of the century at the moment. They're worth £3k in parts to breakers. You could buy that one, run it for a couple of years and turn a profit quite easily. The problem these days is finding a nice one that hasn't rusted, been crashed, or been thrashed regularly on a track.

The reason I sold mine was mileage and accident damage meant it was never worth spending good money on repairs, and I needed an estate for dogs and band gear. Much as I loved the teg, our ATR was definitely the keeper of the two cars

Nice dealer!

Honestly; they ought to bring back the Aerodeck shape & a proper plank so you can put dogs & basses in a Honda Coupe with DWs.

Not a bloody electric S2000; apparently head of Honda France has virtually admitted that's the case. See L'Auto-Journal.

EDIT; see l'A-J badly translated. The guy was using the future conditional tense and Honda is merely talking a good fight as usual.
