Default Decisions.....

So after trying for ages to work out what I am going to replace my current S with I am stilled faced making my mind up.

The choices and their pro's and con's are:

Porsche Cayman S
Pro's

Quick and very competent
Long service interval
Good residual (probably)
Reliable
Quite fun to drive

Con's
Perhaps a little too competent
High purchase price
Delivery late 2006 (probably)
Not a 911
You have to hit the options hard to get a decent spec (approx

Not sure about the Cayman being reliable - there are all sorts of horror stories about the Boxster. German reliability is a bit of a myth these days.

Get another S2000 and do your bike test.

You can then get yourself a bike and still be better off than if you had bought either the Gayman or the Z4M.

For the sort of money that the these cars cost I would rather buy a used 911. What are the prices of 997s like now?

Did you see the Best Motoring video posted by AmuseBoy that features the Cayman S and Boxster S...... the Boxster stayed ahead so the performance advantage of the Cayman must be pretty small!
