Whilst this would have annoyed me too, I’m a big fan of the North American method of 4 ways stops.
Every time I sit at a red-light while there is no traffic on the road I lament the lack of 4 way stops over here . . even Europe has the decency to go with flashing amber on off peak times to stop delaying traffic.

I can see why people are so frustrated that they jump queues and sneak round lights.
cant agree more than that. a different light pattern in quiet hours to show anyone can go, and it should be treated as a give way system

hands up, i will jump temp lights if it's a single road style where you can clearly see that no oncoming traffic.
ya know the sort; the ones where they're repairing a pot hole and have 1/2 the road closed off for 25yards..

i've been tempted to jump crossroad lights, but never have.

traffic lights are a PITA in all but rush hour imo.

Traffic lights are often only there to placate the greenies and as such, cause nothing but frustration.
When I was a kid, one of my friend's fathers claimed temporary traffic lights weren't mandatory.

If he ever came across them, and there wasn't any oncoming traffic, he'd just pile straight through. Nutter ...

Ever seen a SMART driven at less than flat out on a motorway?
I havent, still.
Its really just a cock mobile for underachievers, or those with a boss who hates them.
