EK9 VS S2K
Hi guys
What are your thoughts on the Honda civic ek9, as I’m looking at PXing mine for a s2k but not sure if I will miss the handling of the ek9 .
I know the ek9 will hold its value better in the long run but I really want a s2k on boost if not I can see myself doing a k20 swap on the ek9.
My ek9s worth about 5/6k so I’d be looking at swapping for a s2k around that price maybe a few thousand more.
If I get an s2k I would track it a lot like the ek9 so would do all the usual brakes and suspensions mods first and learn how to drive it good NA before going boosted.
my ek9

The EK's a fantastic little car & they are addictive. Try driving it like you've not stolen it...
The S2000 even in NA form is quite a step up & there's a lot of fun to be had learning how to drive one properly. It's a lot less forgiving.
It's less reliable & more of a PIA at times, but on the right day it's just fantastic.
I doubt you'll rue the day.

The problem is I’ve only ever driven a s2k round a garage I used to work at to MOT it so not really sure how they go or handle lol . 0 to 60 will be close but there is records of stock ek9s getting 5.7 to 60 in Japan. Handle wise I can only think as the power goes up in both cars the ek9 would be faster round a track as it would be more controllable at 260bhp to say a 400bhp s2k and they would both be about the same in a straight line due to power to weight ratio.
Learn to drive the S properly and it'll reward you two fold what any front driver will. An EK9 (in my case a DC2) was dead easy to track and feel like a driving god, both times my S went on track I had much more respect (not that I didn't respect my DC2 or trackdays). Hooking it up in a bend and balancing the car is very rewarding indeed.
A very wet Donnington park taught me a lot about car control in a RWD... until the plebs starting crashing all around me so I retired to the pits until it went off (it didn't and after about 10 red flags and a few recovery trucks towing some crashed cars back, I called it a day and went home in one piece).
I like the EK9, but the S is a 'real' sports car and you should try it, I think you'll like it.
The EK does look cool though, I quite like the colour, is that an EVO colour? never seen one stock like that?

i had an ek9 with the original b16b and then a b18 from my mates integra. Im not going to lie, i miss that car! The s2000 is a good upgrade if you're looking for a "flashier" car or to get the RWD bug out your system. Out of the two its a tough choice, if it was a track only car id go with the ek9 all day long but as a daily/weekend car the s2k gets my vote ! unless you can afford a k swap then id keep the ek9
yeh ive probably been no help at all...

Phil you have a good point there, anyone can drive a ek9 fast but a s2k requires a bit of skill.
I just got back from the nurburging this weekend and did a few wet/damp laps and got past a few big boys cars as they just couldn’t put the power down.

well this is my point what would make a better track weapon a 260bhp na k20 ek9 or a 400bhp supercharged s2k ?
The ek9 is my daily drive so the s2k would be too ha
my GF hates the ek9 with passion but thinks if I get an s2k I will kill my self lol
