A friend of mine has a VXR220. From ~70mph to 150mph it beat a Yamaha R6. Seriously quick car.

I think if Vauxhall could convert to Opel in the UK, at least if only for the 220, it would sell a load more.
You're probably right but it's ridiculous. It's the same bloody car, different badge

Are Fords still considered chavvy? When I were a lad people that were into cars but didn't know anything about cars used to look down their noses at anything with a Ford badge and Vauxhalls were considered OK. When did it change?

300bhp in a ~900kg car?

Seriously, i 'only' have 240bhp and after a month (or so) the shove in the back and the way it sheds speed on the anchors is still shocking and i'm used to supersports motorbikes...

I would heartily recommend these cars to anyone.

FWIW values appear to be solidifying now Vauxhall have ceased production and as people are realising how good these cars are, so maybe now is a good time to buy one?

I have assembled a buyers guide (TADTS and common problems) if anyone's interested? PM me.

Oh, and Mark - I too said that to myself, but the performance/ price/ cost of ownership was too good a proposition to miss...
