Evans to do top Gear
The underlying problem is that the BBC own the "Top Gear" brand, having bought the rights a short time ago from Jeremy Clarkson and Andy Wilman. I believe that our state broadcaster paid £12m, so they have to continue with Top Gear in some form or other or face an embarrassing and rather substantial financial loss.
I think that Chris Evans, love him or loathe him, was probably a "safe" choice. He's a shrewd enough operator to come up with some fresh ideas and enable a rebuilding process to maintain the intrinsic value of the brand which is, let's not forget, a global franchise.
Current rumours have Suzy Perry and Jason Plato as potential co-hosts. Again, relatively safe choices.
What will Clarkson, Hammond and May do? Satellite channels or Netflix have been mentioned.
Don't forget that Andy Wilman and Richard Porter (Mr Sniff Petrol and primary script writer for Top Gear) have also left the BBC, so the people who mattered and were the talent nucleus of Top Gear are no longer under contract to the BBC.
I thought that W1A was just a well-constructed, beautifully nuanced comedy, but it would appear that it was actually a documentary. I just wonder how many meetings have taken place since "steak-gate"? I loved the fact that the weekly "Crisis Meeting" invariably had Jeremy Clarkson as the opening item on the agenda.

Katie price and Brian from big brother. Or Kerry Katona and Ben from Countryphile. Or Stewart 'the brand' Baggs of The Apprentice and Cum dine with me fame and Sinnita of Simon Cowell fame.

I can watch it any time, because it has Ophelia Lovibond in it...........
I always found Top Gear good because it was laddish humour, silly boy stuff, stick jodie or any female in there and that element will be gone so I will not watch it. I dislike the ginger boy almost as much as Lee does ... almost, so that is two reasons I won't watch it, and if Dermot O f@#king leary is in it well that is three strikes and bye bye forever top gear .. what a bunch of idiots the BBC are for sacking Clarkson.

, Jason Plato no,no,no.please no
