I'd stick to the heavy german stuff; this car is so not your thing!
It would be my thing if it had a bit more power, that's the disappointing thing.

Not being German has nothing to do with it, I

Edit: I think Jim was meaning plural 997 and not 997S
That was my interpretation!

[QUOTE=Subaru2000,Feb 26 2009, 06:06 PM] Power to weight is one way of estimating performance when you just look at the spec sheet, but it doesn't mean much at motorway speeds. You need power for higher speeds and I know 276 BHP will feel a bit slow to me at anything over 75 mph when drag starts to become a factor

When I had my S2000 in 03, the VX220 Turbo came out around that time, sporting impressive power to weight 0-60 and 0-100 times. I happened to meet up with one on an empty A1 and expected to be blown away, but its superior Power/weight didn

Actually, the 997 is commendably light and aerodynamic. Both corollaries of its allegedly boring shape (fashion victims again) and its odd engine position, allowing excellent packaging within a short wheelbase.

I think the usually-accepted EU measurements put it at starting off as 1,490 kg, which is just my side of acceptability!

And to be honest, if you want to arrive without the yellow truck, it probably remains the more sensibke choice...

i'm not so sure about that one. In fact it happened twice to me both times in the UK.
1st time the computer decided to go on strike.
Language converted to it's native tongue...adviced to go to 'Werkstelle'. And that was that nothing worked any longer.
2. burned clutch
and no not my fault

Even though I loved driving the Lotus' I've had, I still get annoyed by their faults (and can't bring myself to excuse them with mention of 'character').

However, put me behind the wheel on a good road or on track, and the smile is welded to my face, there really isn't anything like the experience of a well set up Lotus chassis.

Didn't think we had any Werkstellen left in the UK!

Thought they were all on Streik, or had been converted to Wohnungen or Trendy Bars...
