I would keep a hold of it too.

Too many people throwing away money jumping into diesels because of fuel prices even though they don't do the mileage to justify the change.

As already said the depreciation will hit hard.

But you need to factor in running costs - the M3 will still need an annual service (IIRC it's had the Inspection II), VED etc But I suspect the amount to be very small compared to the hit of depreciation.

Keep the car and have some fun when you can!

Slightly OT, but there was a recent thread on PH regarding an 08 Z4MC with few thousand on the clock that was up for sale for

So - I still need/want a car. The parameters need to be as follows:

Fits in my single garage(so cant be much bigger than the M3).
Costs less that 10K
Probably should be a disiesal - but not 100% but fast big engine disisals appeal - Im open to interesting ideas.
Be an estate - I may as well go practical so I can fit my bikes in.
Fit in a sensible tax band.
Have some go - dont want a slow barge.
Just been looking at Audi A6 Avants on Pistonheads, which would appear to match your criteria quite well

Andy, keep the car.

You'll regret selling it as you're rumbling down the road in a bland Eurobox with a tractor engine in it, thinking about the

Andy, keep it. You know you want to. I absolutely love my M3. It's brilliant.

You'd regret getting something lesser.

I'd also add that the cost of a new injector set & pump for one of these modern Diesels will make you rue parting with that Otto lump!
