Not been out there since last June.

And the M needs a proper run.

Sounds like you are investing in the future Craig. I'm investing in NOW (I am an old bugger after all).

I'd keep the M3.
Yours is an E36 isn't it?

The M version was really smooth. It was the first 3er BMW with sensible proportions (coupe particularly), so its roll centres were much lower and the feeling of stability was quite impressive. Plus that cliche well-oiled feel. Plus it was so relatively tiny, you could drive it down the road.

Mate had one, but recognised it was 'too good' a car for him. He genuinely prefers SUVs for kids/dogs/generally taking abuse (he's never been lucky with cars!) purposes and so sold it quite quickly.

Nope!

Im almost thinking of keeping it now, the guy I sold the exhaust to had a berlingo van as a run around - could be my solution

He also had a CSL!

Over the last 2000 miles I've averaged just over 26mpg

Got 8mpg on track, and if you're careful you can get over 30mpg.
