Do you honestly think Heidfeld had the equipment to put pressure on Hamilton?
You don't need to have the best equipment to at least attempt to put some pressure on the bloke in front, in the hope of forcing a mistake - all the F1 cars are incredibly fast, and even a Spyker could have driven closer to Hamilton before the re-start than Heidfeld. You would have thought that driving a Beemer, Heidfeld would have been a natural to drive right up Hamilton's chuff for the entire safety car period
I don't think you're a true racer if you just completely resign yourself for the entire season to the fact that you're not in the McLaren or Ferrari, and just give up all hope of challenging those drivers at any time. If all drivers in motorsport took that attitude, it would be a pretty dire situation! Thankfully they're not, and that's why we had the fantastic spectacle of Taku overtaking Alonso
