they are just making the FIA look stupid, which isn't hard really.
They are making someone look stupid, but it's not the FIA, in my opinion.

Nah, the FIA need no help to look stupid.

The world would be a sadder place if either McLaren or Ferrari stopped making arses of themselves by bitching...

Latest news is that Alonso is waiting to see what penalties Renault is met with in this latest spying scandal. Another nugget is that Toyota have offered Alonso $56m, and that it is for a one year deal - lending further weight to the rumour that he's contracted to Ferrari for 2009.

Ferrari are also extremely concerned that Massa is going to shred his tyres now that traction control is outlawed, following the test earlier this month in Barcelona. Again, Alonso is very kind to his tyres (much more so than Lewis was this year), and looks a solid bet for Ferrari to partner Kimi.

Vaguely F1 related ...

Just watched 'The Top Ten Rally Cars' on Motors TV. The Metro 6R4 was featured and the programme mentioned that is was designed by Patrick Head. You learn something everyday.

Programme also featured plenty of footage of the Group B cars. The shots of cars driving at 120mph at a parting wall of spectators were just crazy. How the drivers held their nerve, I'll never know.

Led to me search YouTube for more clips and I of course came across the Portuguese Rally accident (3 killed and 30 injured) that effectively put an end to the Group B era ...

the current crop of WRC cars are probably not any slower than those Group B cars..

but probably a lot easier for the drivers to control.. and in general rally is a lot safer than it was then..

I just love the old footwell shots of the Group B drivers heel-toeing. Amazing skill. Especially when you see the drama of what's happening outside!
