Thanks for the replies. It's on a stock exhaust and I'm more than happy with it. The car stays in Glasgow in an underground parking area (no snow!). That's another reason for not getting an aftermarket exhaust. Apparently, even on the stock, people can hear me start it 5 floors up! I've taken it round Knockhill, but no big trips yet. The weather has seriously reduced my play time whilst there has been so much salt on the road. But, 5000 miles in a year isn't bad. In fact, it's positively high mileage compared to some I know.
MPG is ..er...poor. 15 or 16 if I'm cruising on the motorway. Down to 10 in the city, but it's worth it to hear the noise bouncing off the buildings

I really think the 430 will do well value wise. The 458 is in a different price league so won't affect the 430 for a looooong time, and the 360 isn't so popular (355 is overtaking it now)

Good choice

Actually the age / spec of the one I tested looks like it's worth at least the same, if not more according to PH asking prices! That was 3 years ago

A year already - wow
I do like the 430 spyder looks good in black too many red ones out there
I looked at that blue 16M that was for sale in Edinburgh a few months ago - to raw for euro joins though
IIRC the 430 box is Graziano like the one in my Aston
The Aston box needs to do regular clutch learns to get decent life out of it, is the 430 the same?

OP: Get that tubi fitted Those neighbours on the 10th will be awoken to the finest Italian orchestra

Only thing that annoys me with this video though is Rolex boy behind the wheel keeps over revving it on the downshifts

{cue Homer Simpson-style "stumped" voice"} Er...yeah, sure....... Seriously, all I know is that I'm very careful in town and let it slip into neutral whenever approaching a stop. The F1 box is fabulous compared to the Gallardo's I've driven.

Granted this is a scud but it gives you the idea of how epic the ring would be in a 430:

OMG the sound of the throttle blips on the downshifts you could just never get tired of that noise

How about we have a gentleman's agreement. I drive you round the ring Hales style and pray to god nothing breaks
He would benefit from some driving lessons!
That is painful to watch (like that?) and agony on the ears.

It's also exactly why I will never knowingly buy a car that has been near a track.

a quick check says it is common to the R8, 360, 430 & Vantage!
On the Aston you can force it to do a clutch learn to adjust for any wear. On the 430 it seems its a trip to the dealer to get that done, they can also measure the wear for you.

I am hoping that it will show up on the SD3* diagnostic when I get my warning lights checked out. I think it was 70% worn when I got the car, so I'm not expecting it to last that much longer. Then I'll be on the phone to the stockbroker again! £2300 I think.

* See that? That was very technical for me!
