You've definitely done the right thing there.

Hi all,

One year of ownership completed. Here's the news...

Actually, there's not much to report. I've had the car a year and its still providing me with so much pleasure. A good calendar of events coming up for the summer and we're heading to Yorkshire on Friday for 2 nights too. Look out for us on the M6

Just had the car serviced for the summer and a small scratch removed (I grazed a display stand in the SECC!) but other than that, I have only done around 1000 miles since last Autumn. Still getting a warning light, but rather tempted to ignore it now. It's a faulty sensor, we believe, and doesn't seem to be affecting anything but my nerves.

Shouldn't be as expensive to run as last year - I've had tyres and brakes done fairly recently - but I am still half-expecting the clutch to go in due course. It's still the original one fitted and the car's just done 20k. Many people have had to replace at 12 to 15k, but I think a history of relatively smooth use has meant that mine is still going strong. Colleagues have stated that their's lasted 30k. I certainly haven't had occasion to use the Launch Control!

Value-wise, the car is still worth pretty much what I paid for it. I calculate this simply by asking my dealer-friend what he'd sell it for. We're good.

Washed and dried last night, here's the car in downtown Glasgow and outside the Exhibition Centre, looking across to the BBC building.

a truly stunning car. Looks mean in black too. I love the sound of these cars. Are you going to track at anytime or trip to the Nurburgring (private track day)? The thought of driving one of these even at half pace round the ring would be living the dream. Nice looking too. I prefer the 430 spider to the new 458 spider

Just out of pure curiosity what mpg are you getting? only joking.

Has it got an aftermarket exhaust? (Capristo, Tubi, Larini etc). They sound fooking gorgeous on these motors

Enjoy!

I've been waiting on you posting up a photo of it buried under 6ft of snow, seeing as Arran has been inundated with the stuff

Granted this is a scud but it gives you the idea of how epic the ring would be in a 430:

OMG the sound of the throttle blips on the downshifts you could just never get tired of that noise

How about we have a gentleman's agreement. I drive you round the ring Hales style and pray to god nothing breaks

2nd pic is much better than the first.

1000 miles is criminal

Not tried launch control once? I would, even in the knowledge of the cost of my folly
