He may already be destined for Massa's seat at Ferrari.

No chance Dave, the last thing Ferrari want is someone upsetting Teflonso by daring to overtake him.

Webber will not be driving for Red Bull next season I am fairly certain of that .... I suspect possibly Nico, however I think Mercedes will want to keep him. The difficulty RB have is if they do lose Webber then who to replace him with, again they won't want the boy wonder (wasn't he fantastic on Top Gear, I really wanted to dislike him, but he was great) being upstaged so would have to be someone prepared to take a back seat, someone new to the sport and flexible ... Di Resta maybe?

Found this browsing an F1 memorabilia store, thought I just had to share it. Sat on his winning car, with a hot young lady, smoking tabs & drinking beer, what a Leg-end!

Can you imagine any of the current crop being this cool? (JB perhaps)

But would they risk upsetting Jean Todt (not that there is any kind of link between him and Ferrari) by getting rid of Massa?
After all Todt's son is Massa's agent/manager.

I can't imagine that's a factor. Sauber have strong ties with Ferrari, they could almost be said to be the Ferrari junior team in the same way Torro Rosso are to Red Bull (Massa came from Sauber). If they are unhappy with Massa a deal with Sauber would seem to make sense. But I'm not sure Massa is performing all that badly. He's just got a much better team mate in Alonso than he ever had in Raikonnen or Schumacher in his last proper year.

Now Red Bull are a top team they're going to want, and can probably get, a proven top driver, and apart from Button and Hamilton, Rosberg may be the only one that fits the bill.

The other question is what happens to Webber? Will he just retire, or end up at the back of the grid with one of the B-teams?

We had almost no driver changes this year. Perhaps next year will be a big merry-go-round.

I agree that it makes sense to have a whipping boy/number 2 driver.

We all saw what happened between Alonso & Hamilton at McLaren. Ferrari and RB aren't stupid and understand this.

Interesting to see what Dieterich Whatsthemattershits had to say on Webber today

Good, glad to hear that Webber is staying. He is a great driver and deserves another shot at the WDC next year...if he can unseat the untenable and uncatchable current and probably next WDC, Vettel who is just on fire and in a whole new league of awesomeness!
