That was always going to happen. His Dad was Chairman of Aon Corp and paid for his seat
He was pretty good in GP2, so it's not just about the cash.

I also read today that Grosjean has been confirmed at Lotus, and Kobayashi has admitted he won't be in F1 in 2013, despite managing to raise €8m to help his cause.
You've just answered your own question there.

Kobayashi with years of experience, results, an entire nation behind him and €8m

or

Max Chilton

Kobayashi who's been around for 3 years, looked quite good at times but only managed a couple of third places and has often been inconsistent and beaten in the races by his team-mate, or someone who could turn out to be the next big star?

We'll see. With no HRT, chances are Chilton will have to get used to starting last, unless he can beat Glock.

BBC live race coverage:

China, Spain, Canada, Britain, Belgium, Italy, Japan, India and Brazil - plus whichever race is slotted in to the July 21 gap.

Oh, and Katy Suzi Perry is taking Jake's job.

Suzy is far, far better than Georgie. She was good on MotoGP, knew what she was talking about.

Not true.

His Dad funded as far as GP2, after that he told Max he was on his own.

(From a workmate who is a good friend of the family).

I hope there's still a slot for Lee McKenzie. She's well respected in the paddock - the daughter of a well known motorsports journalist and she manages some drivers in junior formulae - and has done a good job in her BBC career to date.

I follow her on Twitter and I know she and her Dad were upset she didn't get Humphrey's job ...
