Just caught the end of the 2011 race on Sky F1 and saw Webber do Kobayashi on the chicane. Pretty much the only place that overtaking can happen and it takes a degree of compliance from the car being overtaken.

Same here, and that relied on a big error too.

You usually get the odd attempt on the corner after the Casino Square, which I can't remember the name of, and again into the hairpin. But that always seem to involve catching the other driver by surprise, and end up with a clumsy banging of wheels.

Ultimately if the tyres fall off the cliff, even in Monaco a driver won't be able to keep others behind.

What's going on with Mercedes doing secret tyre testing? Sounds very dubious.

Did anyone see Lazenby call someone a 'rear gunner' yesterday, and Herbert really struggling not to crack up I think Croft was trying to be serious.

Would have been more amusing if it was Webber!

Secret tyre tests...

Ross Brawn ' Well, we didn't pack up and go home after Sunday race. I don't think we were very secretive!'

It's an odd one. If what Mercedes say is true they can't possible be reprimanded over it but I can understand the other teams being pissed.

Ultimately they weren't told the compounds they were on. They're tyres for next year. I'm guessing there were no prototype parts allowed or setup changes during the test so best case the drivers got some free testing of different driving techniques to save tyres.
