Grossjean had 2 incidents

1) Crashing into Button - this was investigated after the race - he's admitted he was culpable, so expect some sort of reprimand/penalty for the next race
2) Overtaking Massa with all four wheels of the track - this is what he was given the drive-through for. (It was a harsh penalty as he was only just off the track, but had he given the place back, and he would not have been penalised). It was similar to this (although obviously Vettel was a lot more off track than Grosjean was)

I also agree, golden balls is one whining twat.
I expect Merc to be very competitive at Spa and Monza, Vettel to rack up 3 back to back wins at Singapore, Korea and Suzuka sealing up the championship. Then the last 4 are any ones guess as development focus shifts to next year.

I'm pleased to see Lewis back to winning ways. How many people thought he had made the wrong move to Mercedes have now been proved wrong? I really hope this is the start of something good for them. Nico was unlucky on the opening laps but I think he would have been higher assuming his engine didn't let go. Some of Lewis' over takes were nothing short of stunning. Round the outside on Webber in turn 2 was fantastic to watch.

The race wasn't bad overall, and it was nice to see Jenson mixing it with the front runners once again. I was surprised Golden Boy took so long to get past him. Hardly World Champion quality

It's one of those where he should have handed back the place as he overtook off the track (albeit only a tiny amount).
I think that would have been harsh. Massa made a mistake, Grosjean was ahead going into a high speed corner with Massa on the inside extremely close. Would it have been better to have stayed on the track and crashed into Massa? And then he was only an inch or so onto the kerb, and then for about half a second. So if ever there was a case for saying it was just racing and letting it go, that was it.

It seems like a return to the bad old days of the stewards affecting the results of the race a bit too often and preventing honest racing. Most would say it was a great move, but now we're meant to believe it was cheating.

I saw a few drivers off the track, Golden Balls for one, so yes Grosjean was unlucky with that move.

As for the Button 'pass' yes he needs slapping for that one

We didn't even fall asleep during this race btw kind of enjoyed watching it for once

Normally 4 wheels off a circuit gets you the black warning flag first, and a penalty if you do it again. Not sure on F1 rules but i'd expect it to be the same.

The rules are not the same, 4 wheels off the track you either give the place back or receive some kind of penalty ... as Grosjean did, ie a drive through in his case.

Ah yes, if it's an overtake. Under normal racing you can get away with it.

FWIW, Grosjean got a further 20 second penalty for the Button incident. No cost in terms of his placing though.

Just read about that myself. Personally I think the drive through should have been for hitting Jenson, and the 20sec penalty for over taking off the track, not that it really matters now.
