I wondered if he choose #44 because that makes him twice as good as Button.
The World Champion can use number 1 if he or she wishes, Hamilton chose not to do so.

There is the exception of being world Champion, you can use no. 1 rather than your allocated number, your choice as champ.

Haters gonna hate.
It's not arrogance. Arrogance would have been him taking to Twitter or Facebook calling it an outrage that he wasn't let into the Royal Box. He missed out because he got the dress code wrong. And as for the Royal etiquette blunder, how many people know about that rule, or would even remembered it if you were about to met the Queen? I know I'd be rather nervous if I had to sit next to her Majesty for a spot of lunch.
It's arrogant to think that the rules shouldn't apply to you, or more to the point, that it isn't worth your time to find out what the rules are. I'm sure if you knew you were going to meet Her Maj you'd bother to find out what you should and shouldn't do.

I don't know if he was making some kind of point, or just being an idiot.
Point to the place where Hamilton is saying the rules don't apply to him?

People are allowed to make an honest mistakes..............unless your a multi-millionaire racing driver with more talent in your little finger than most pleds on car forums. The fact is none of us know the truth, maybe he thought he could get away with the dress code, maybe he just forgot or more than likely he got told by his manager "hey Lewis, your going to the men's Wimbledon final this afternoon" and wasn't even told there was a dress code. At least he didn't start moaning about it on social media. That would have been arrogant.

I'm sick and fed up of people wanting to drag the guy down for such trivial matters like getting a dress code wrong. Have a go at him because he does something stupid on the track, not because of the clothes he wears, the company he keeps or the trivial mistakes he makes.

The sad thing is that when it comes to driving he is peerless but he has issues with his attitude.
Off the track he comes across as a total dickhead with more money than taste.
Just my opinion.

BTW, Haters gonna hate is a really stupid expression IMO.
[/quote]

He has known he is a role model off the track for well over a decade, he has never taken it seriously.
It is losing him support both on and off the track

I think Hamilton is a berk.

However, I think the wearing a tie thing is absolutely stupid and Wimbledon is more up it's arse than Hamilton is arrogant. I don't think Hamilton is arrogant at all actually.

So in my opinion this is a fail for stupid rules that do nothing but reinforce the pompous nature of the 'elite'.

This should get interesting..

I don't see Williams promoting any of their test drivers.
Put the hulk in a Williams. If not now, then it's never gonna happen and he will be stuck fighting for top ten finishes forever.
Might as well go to the WEC for good.

What a terrible period to endure the last nine months for the family. Meanwhile Schumi is improving as far as we know.
