Haters gonna hate.
It's not arrogance. Arrogance would have been him taking to Twitter or Facebook calling it an outrage that he wasn't let into the Royal Box. He missed out because he got the dress code wrong. And as for the Royal etiquette blunder, how many people know about that rule, or would even remembered it if you were about to met the Queen? I know I'd be rather nervous if I had to sit next to her Majesty for a spot of lunch.

I don't know if he was making some kind of point, or just being an idiot.
People are allowed to make an honest mistakes..............unless your a multi-millionaire racing driver with more talent in your little finger than most pleds on car forums. The fact is none of us know the truth, maybe he thought he could get away with the dress code, maybe he just forgot or more than likely he got told by his manager "hey Lewis, your going to the men's Wimbledon final this afternoon" and wasn't even told there was a dress code. At least he didn't start moaning about it on social media. That would have been arrogant.
I'm sick and fed up of people wanting to drag the guy down for such trivial matters like getting a dress code wrong. Have a go at him because he does something stupid on the track, not because of the clothes he wears, the company he keeps or the trivial mistakes he makes.

The sad thing is that when it comes to driving he is peerless but he has issues with his attitude.
Off the track he comes across as a total dickhead with more money than taste.
Just my opinion.

BTW, Haters gonna hate is a really stupid expression IMO.

Point to the place where Hamilton is saying the rules don't apply to him?

People can call him what they like, but usually they call him names like 'idtiot' because they don't like him or the fact he is world champion and peerless at the top of his game - it's not him that has a problem it's them. As somebody said above, the haters are always gonna hate ... which is a bit sad really

This 44 thing is a relatively new idea for F1, come from stateside I suspect, I quite like it ... drivers associated with numbers ... I also noticed that Hamiltion didn't mind not having number 1 on his car which he was entitled to have, as a contrast can't imagine Vettle ever giving that up can you?

I do see every driver as an individual. I believe they all have to have that fighter pilot cockiness about them to be able to succeed. I believe they all want to be #1. So when they get the opportunity they will flaunt it. I never did understand why LH didn't take the number 1. But I'd also believe he is the only current driver with his driver number tattoo'd on his skin. So it could have been strange to be #1 and #44 at the same time.
I want these guys to be the biggest ego money can buy. I want each driver to want to win so bad that they will do anything to make it happen. Makes for good racing. I like LH as a driver and I'm glad he is in the sport because I believe he makes the sport better.
I like Formula 1 because it is supposed to be the absolute height of perfection in motor racing. That has really dropped off for me. But at least it isn't like Nascar where you can go 2 laps down and somehow still win the race. If you mess up in F1 your chances of winning are hugely diminished. I think that is why I'm more Vettel/Newey fan than anything else. When I started watching F1 they were just getting going and they were always winning.
Some of the current regulations are boggling to me. I hope with the new regulations they are searching for that we can get back to the biggest races with the biggest names instead of racing to a delta.
From an old news article
"At the start of the 2014 season F1 drivers picked numbers to remain with them for the remainder of their careers, with Hamilton choosing the number 44 with which he won his first karting title"

I'm surprised he was allowed to not use #1. It's one of the traditions of F1 that the current champion is #1, though they'd probably all say that being current champion is meaningless. Perhaps no driver will ever use #1 again.
I wondered if he choose #44 because that makes him twice as good as Button.
