The Formula 1 Thread - 2015
It's not in Rosberg's best interest to go wheel to wheel with Hamilton today as he has everything to lose and nothing to gain.
The constructors' and drivers' championships are done and dusted and Hamilton has the much stronger hand.
Rosberg's race is with Vettel now and he'd be wise to remember that.

Rosberg has raised his game in Qualifying recently, but his problem has been his starts. Since Spa the driver has had to manage the start sequence, clutch bite points etc, and Hamilton appears to do this better.
Hence, he's alongside by the first corner, and inevitably on the inside, in a position to help Rosberg off the track on the exit of the corner. Or the second corner if it's Japan.
Rosberg would be better off qualifying second or third and letting Hamilton find himself hung out to dry in the first corner.
I've been watching the race buildup on Sky, and during the Drivers' Track Parade they stop at various points around the circuit and throw caps into the crowd. The irony was not lost on the commentators when Lewis Hamilton was handed half a dozen caps to throw.

So Rosberg did enough, but what a boring race ... although it would have been extremely spicy if Hamilton had decided not to change his tyres when ordered to ... Brazil next, unless it rains another bore fest predicted ...
Really? I quite enjoyed it. Quite a lot going on all the way through, and the race for the lead was always fairly close. And a great atmosphere - really shows what's missing in all those Tilka-dromes in countries with no motor racing history.
But a deserved win for Rosberg. Lewis takes the championship and gets all the plaudits, and then one week later Rosberg beats him in identical machinery.

In a top car, Verstappen could potentially embarrass Vettel or Hamilton. He's got the talent and perhaps only lacks experience.

Statistics don't mean anything and are anything but interesting unless one is a mathematician or a politician... I haven't looked at those you posted a link to. Yes faster when it matters, scored more points yes, every team mate yes ... yes my statement is correct.

Interesting.
I thought in 2011 Jenson scored 270 points finishing 2nd, and Hamilton was 227 finishing 5th, in the same car / team?

So now 10 wins to 4, now.
Rosberg has certainly done better in recent races, with 4 successive pole positions, although this was the first one converted to a win (although Russia would probably have been a win for him, too).
Gonna be interesting to see what develops with RBR. Whilst watching the post race interview of Christian Horner, a friend opined that Christian Horner's body language and '3 mile stare' suggested he'd received some very, very bad news. In the background to the shot Mr Red Bull was seen pacing about; I wonder if Christian Horner will be on the RBR payroll for 2016...
