There are some interesting articles around about why the Honda F1 engine has problems and why Honda couldn't make a mid season change.

They also say that Mclaren's chassis isn't terrible and is on a par with Ferrari's.

If the BBC article is by Andrew Benson I wouldn't bother reading it.

And we'll only know if McLaren's chassis is on a par with Ferrari's when it can manage the same lap times. Which won't happen.

As I said, McLaren have produced poor chassis for several years, and had similar aero problems to Ferrari in that there was a lack of correlation between their wind tunnel results and what the car did on track, which is why they, like Ferrari, used Toyota's wind tunnel in Cologne. McLaren have so many problems at the moment that they're not going to turn things around any time soon. The game has got away from them.

I like! Except, even though it may be functional, not too sure about the look of the wheel arches.

I guess this is McLaren's answer to Newey's RB2010 that he did for Gran Turismo 5 ...

If that is the future of F1, then bring it on, and in that colour scheme.

I like the look and the concept, although they are taking the proverbial by "using solar panels on the sidepods to harness energy from the sun" really?, what will that power then? the LEDs on the steering wheel maybe?

The front wheel covers are a bit OTT and don't look like they leave any room for the wheels to turn, but I guess they've thought of that. The closed canopy looks quite good though; if it's inevitable that F1 goes down that road then it doesn't look as bad as I thought it might.
