Have you bought that mental Westfield yet?
I had a change of heart and sold up completely. Westie, trailer, spares, everything, even the Scoob. Decided to have a break from the bearding for a year and have done a deal with Jonny for bulk Caterham hire with my brother. It's a bit weird to come from significantly more power and and a setup up that was tailored to my (lack of) driving style to the Superlight, but the sheer convenience of it all is worth it for the time being.

The lad who I was going to buy the mad Westie off has also decided he wants to run it for a while also, which works for me. I've mentioned to him that I'll probably be wanting another toy in a year or so when the itch starts again and that if he's interested in parting with it then, I'd more than likely take it. The thing is, that it's the single only car I actually want, so I suppose I should sort that out in 12 months if he's ready to part with it.

As for now, I didn't need to tow any more and the Scoob was costing a fortune, so I put it in against another MX5 (Scoob + a grand, I couldn't not really). Cheap as chips, bulletproof and a good laugh even at low speeds. I also got a Rover 200 for the RRP of the hard top... But the less said about that the better.

I've got a lot of time for MX5s, one of the cars that really surprised me by how much fun it was to drive.

I'm doing the exact opposite, I'm even starting to show signs of facial hair and quite enjoying it. Let's hope the novelty doesn't wear off too quickly.

I seem to be spending an awful lot of money, not on the car itself but on things related to it and I suspect there's much more of that to come. Placed an order for my trailer yesterday, that really hurt.

First outing tomorrow at Donington and then Cadwell the following week

It took me 6 years and for a couple of them I essentially had two of the things!

You will spend a lot of money, the trick is not to keep track on how much you're spending Though I'll also admit I liked the bearding, but with work commitments of late I just haven't had the time so the BaT hire should help out no end with that. I'm at Rockingham at the W/E (it looks empty!). No doubt I'll run into you at a track day sometime (figuratively speaking), I'll have to pop over and have a natter.

Good luck at Donny!
