Frog off!
Actually, even in their home market sales have plummeted now that their communist gov't has ended subsidies.
The likes of Toyota and Ford are managing to remain static, whilst of course the Vages are forging ahead - Audi in particular (21%).
I am really struck by the success of this Audi religion generally - it's a real achievememt after 40 years of striving. God, I hope Steve doesn't buy one - I couldn't stand bieng told that's the bestest thing in the muliverse!

They should have built them properly.
A friend of mine has a specialist auto electrical / electronics business. I reckon that any time you choose to roll up at his place you will find that about 3/4 of the cars there are Renaults.
When I had my own garage I (almost) only ever used to replace clutch cables on two makes of vehicle:- Fiat and, you've guessed - Renault! And Renault counted for most of those.........
The simple fact is that we were doing repairs on Renaults that we were not doing on other makes of vehicle.
And don't get me started on the Migrane headlight bulbs!

For the moment.
The UK car industry is in a remarkable growth phase; GKN drivelines is doing record business with 4x4 conversions for FWD vages, etc.
Since we actually stopped subsidising it years ago, most of the actual brands are foreign-owned. Which is probably why most of them are very good; with the Nissan Puke, we can even out-ugly the French.
We have always been a bit ahead of the curve, so we've done most of our collapsing. Bit like PSA & Renault soon will be - fortunately BMW group & M-B might buy up the bits the Chinese don't.

Aston Martin is doing very well which is a surprise, and Renault doesn't really own Nissan it has a 50/50 share.
FWIW, it isnt rosey in the UK and hasn't been for a while this i admit, the good old days have gone
.Anyway's haven't you got some ridiculous rules/regulations to make up. I'll let this ride since I'm digressing from the thread subject and its obvious from all posts i read from you, you have nothing else better to do.
