Frog off!
Not at all, the French do many things very well, bigger cars are not one of them, and reliable cars of any size seems to be too tricky as well.

I find that if it's French it must be bad attitude quite funny and no i'm not French. Meanwhile i know a lot of well to do Brits living in the Périgord.

I do a lot of french "autoroutes" and i don't see many french made cars by the wayside... Audi's otoh...
btw amusing read albeit 'slightly' slanted: "1000 Years of Annoying the French"

Okay.
Interesting book.
In all honesty all the times i have been abroad i always get on really well with the Germans (its strange because my friends don't seem to bother/get it), but not the French - they don't seem too friendly even though I've made an effort. Funny as i was an A* student at French in school.
What made me laugh recently was I was the only English guy, in a hostel in Australia. I was sitting at a large table outside at night with a lot of, Swedish, Dutch, German, Finnish, Canadian, Italian and Irish people.
A French fella walked past, and a German fella and his mate said 'He's not that friendly the french guy, anyways who likes the french!', some of the others overheard and this resulting in us all coming to the same conclusion!
, i did not instigate it.
Saying that i remember one girl who was Dutch who really detested the Germans, bit like canadian and Americans, but unlike us who are disliked by almost everyone
. Everyone likes the Irish though

Don't we just know it? A decade ago, they used to lead the JD Power satisfaction tables along with the other Japanese and now they're right down with the rubbish brands.
Well done, Carlos the Goon. Next, there'll be Infinities off M-B Planks and M-B's off Renault planks. Hopefully, the Germans will march in & start shouting the odds before they repeat the Chrysler fiasco they've just begun to recover from.
JLR is now far less shit than it used to be - it's just taken a bloody long time about it.
Just don't mention MSG...

Sure Nick...dream on.
btw Nissan is Renault owned.

I hope the Euro doesn't collapse - it'll be bad news all round. But I fear it's inevitable.
Either way, it will force consolidation in EU (long overdue) and the Renault-M-B tie-up's a done deal.
There are only two real basket-cases in the UK; Honda & Lotus, sadly.
The former may recover, the latter is looking worrying.
