Default Give A Dog A Bad Name.

Well I witnessed the most disgraceful piece of driving I've seen in a long time last night about 7.30pm coming from Wednesbury town centre and approaching the M6 Motorway Junction 9 at Bescot. Traffic was moderately heavy for the time of day and in front of me about 3 cars in front was a black Boxster with the top down (None 'S' I'm fairly sure). He was weaving from lane to lane like a maniac, dangerously cutting in on all and sundry. There was a cacophoney of horns blaring as drivers protested this wankers behaviour. He ended up at the lights on red just before the access roundabout. As the lights changed to amber, he lit up the back tyres (literally) as he dumped the clutch at high revs and spun the back wheels going nowhere for about 3 seconds. When he finally got traction he shot away in a billow of smoke from his burning tyres, with the back end snaking back and forth along the road. He jumped the lights on red as he entered the roundabout and was going so fast as he made the left turn, he very nearly went sideways into the first car on the roundabout to his right,... which had started to move.

Last seen screaming up the access road Northbound. No wonder sports car drivers are viewed a little dubiously by some people!

Well either his very wealthy maiden aunt had just croaked and left him loaded, or it was Dads I would guess. He looked very young ....what bit I could see of him.

Takes all sorts!

There's some guy in The Times today, with a Boxster, advocating 70mph limiters on all cars, IIUC

I read somewhere a few years back that it it wasn't for people exceeding the speed limit, certain roads in the UK would just be logged jammed.

Don't know if there is any truth in the matter.

More than a little truth in that I would say. We all know we have to have speed limits. but they are ridiculously low in some areas. I'm not an advocate of driving around like our friend above, and he deserves all he's got coming to him if there's any justice at all in the world.

The trouble is that speed limits in this country are set to the standard of the lowest common denominator, which is is pretty awful.
