Default Glass etching?

As you may or may not know the Scoob was smacked into a few weeks ago by a wvm

The drivers window was chipped and needs replacing, and after taking it to the bodyshop I realised the windows are etched with the chassis number.

This must be quite unusual because nobody seems to know how to get it re-done onthe new glass - does anybody here know ?
