to go german or not?
Since my s2k died I have been stressing to find a new engine or have it rebuilt. From all the posts I've read so are a lot of other people in the same boat with no real safe options.
I've come to the conclusion I will borrow some money and buy another s2k and sell my one as a non runner once I transfer over all my mods OR I buy a Z4 which seems to be more sturdy and luxurious but appears less fun.
Opinions guys?

Depends what type of Z4 you want. I've just recently got myself an E89 Z4 with the new 28i twin-scroll turbo engine (after the S and a Mini Cooper S) and I absolutely love it.
It's a far more grown up car than the S was, very nice inside, folding hard top (which is a real bonus in England, especially in winter) and the engine is absolutely superb. 0-60 in 5.7s and 258 torques. It pulls from 1300rpm in any gear and is only £170 a year to tax. It just feels like a much better, more "put-together" car. Admittedly though, it's more of a cruiser than a back road blaster and I reckon an S would beat it on the twisty stuff, but then that's not really the point of one to be honest.
