GT86
I wonder what they have in store for its life cycle, ie tuning options (TRD) or future model power hikes? You would guess not given the ethos of not having big bhp. And with no FI tuning will be limited.
The aftermarket tuners will be jizzing in their pants though!

I am fortunate enough to be on a working assignment with peeps that may know this ! as well as the standard spec model which appear from time to time they had a race spec version outside the office last week. cant remember the name of the team running it.
I have to admit that if I had the cash I'd be tempted.
Tada-san has already admitted the possibility of a convertible version and that a ~250bhp (probably NA) version is likely. It is intended for the car to have a long development life (like a Porsche) and not be ignored to die (like a Honda).
The car has a number of characteristics that make it riceable:
Like most moderns, the cat is very close to the heads for fast light-off (the λ probe is nect to the crank pulley!) and as a result, the manifold isn't the best. Similarly, the inlet is ideally situated for a ram-effect version. Guesses more educated than mine have suggested an easy 10bhp can be found there. The dual injection system means one can fine-tune it more easily than with DI alone.
The caster/camber is non-adjustable, but the standard arms will likely be ditched by serious ricers. Existing aftermarket Subaru Impreza offset bolts drop straight in - as do many other Impreza tuning bits.
The wheels are a +48 offset. Given that it uses angled McP struts, offset is even more critical than it is on the DW-sysyem of an S2000. But you will most probably get away with +45s without ruining the road handling, and +45s are ubiquitous.

I've been watching with interest how the GT-86 has been shaping up and I'm liking what I'm seeing. I love the looks, decent specs, rear wheel drive with LSD, competitive price etc etc. There have been some complaints about the slightly numb steering and the engine which could do with a few extra horses, but I have the same complaints about my S. So what do you guys think?
