I drove a Suzuki swift and an e9x m3 on the ring last week and it was the swift that was more fun.

PTW of the 86 must be very close to the S? Bear in mind the S2000 actually only has about 220 bhp at best.

You learn very quickly in hi end classic cars the ones that have lots of money very rarely mention it , the ones who are keen to tell you about their money are a pita . I am as polite to reliant robin owners as I am to Bugatti owners , you never know what's in the garage at home

I parked the S next to a black 86 today.

Quite amazing the way they've stretched the wheelbase & moved the driving position forward (B-pillars align well) in otder to make it a 2+2.

If you are really planning to keep it that long then a bit of time spent now with some POR15 and copper grease would pay dividends.

I've never been in the position to buy a new car outright, or a new car at all so would love to get something up on the ramps and future proof it.

Not a bad idea. There seems to be sticky goop on the underside anyway but yes, it's box sections & particularly rear wheelarches that undo Japanese cars.

Nothing's terribly adjustable on a Hachiroku out of the box.

I would want to take of the front and rear bumpers too, theres always lots of little brackets and welds at either end that would be easy to paint now but will look like shit after one of our winters.

The dinitrol stuff is pretty good for the box sections although the last time I used it I had left it to warm in a bucket of hot water that actually caused it to explode which was rather messy. Only use it inside the box sections though, I wouldnt want to work on a car thats been covered in underseal.
