GT86
I never liked airbox lid off, sounded agricultural.
I ended up putting a K&N on there, sounds like a race car with that and the HKS. A bit ott for me really but too lazy to take it off.

In an unbiased a opinion i like this car and TBH the colour looks even better than i thought it would
however being honest its lack of grunt puts me off.
As far a purist goes
but performance its a bit keep it 'high or die'.

Yes its not particularly lightweight either is it?
Another 60-100bhp and it would surely have been a market winner.
A car clearly aimed at petrol heads and enthusiasts, all the right design elements, but stupidly a naff power plant.
As it is, I think the artifical demand won't last outside of the first 12m.
And then you better hope you can get rid without crying into the piggy bank.
Oh well.
The search goes on.

Are you looking for something different and rather than this car is wrong its just wrong for you?
I had the same opinion but then I think this is more mx5 enthusiast than TVR.
Compared to most hot hatches I would take it, i expect it would be a lot cheaper to run than a vxr, a focR or even your megane. And its undoubtedly better looking than them and less chavtastic.
Its a bold move by toybaru and as such I hope it comes off.

It weighs 35-40KG's less than an early S2000, and about 15KG's less than my S2000 - but that doesn't mean much.
With another 60-100BHP yes i agree it would be much more appealing, it isnt all about speed from the reports its well balanced car, just in todays market of performance/mpg/emissions its underpowered - i see there are aftermarket tuning options already available in the form of bolt on's and ecu remaps, but its going to be like the S in this respect probably even harder to extract power - if its anything like my past experiences with toyota (having been an owner of a toyota in the past and helped with some). Newer blocks seems to be weak when you up the power, however if the 4U-GSE is the same i could be proved wrong.
Nice car, i do like it just the power lets it down.
At least Toyota have brought some out remotely sporty/fun unlike Honda.

I'd like to not moan about the power too, but it's probably got 160-170 going to the rear wheels, and should you need to overtake something, I imagine that's going to be a right pita.
SC kits are going to become popular though.

I mean frankly, if you cannot overtake with ~200 brake at tha weight, you shouldn't be driving. Try it with 85!
However, tuners have already doubled the WHP for the runup&gearchangeically challenged. Dunno about durability as yet...
I imagine that the car will be most fun on roads where overtaking is fairly rare - back roads and the like
if it was going to be hammered up and down dual carriageways and motorways, and if you tend to treat every drive as a race, then it might be different
as said on another thread, power and fun do not need to go together
