I drive past a BRZ pretty much every day, so they're definitely out there to drive.
Considering the roads these days and how difficult it is to overtake I feel it needs more power. It has the same power as a clio...

197 is enough for a bit of overtaking. I have 170 in my derv and a mountain of torque for 3 pico seconds before i have to change gear. Again.
But my old E46 M3. Now THAT knew how to overtake. Hello horizon. Only one speeding ticket in 2 years ownership too!

Although that's exactly the 86's advantage over an M3; you don't just reel in the horizon and have to stand on the brakes quite so soon and going out for a drive's all over already.
It's got that pleasant to drive at low speeds thing going on - not as much as the old Hondas; it's slightly too refined - but for a modern car, it's really outstanding.
It is clearly designed for its purpose and isn't merely a swoopy body glued onto a dropped CUV/Poxbox.

RichGS2K - Was the GT86 that you drove on Saturday from WKB in Chichester? If so I had a 40 minute drive in the same car on Saturday afternoon.
I pulled up in my Honda with the missus and the salesman who sold us our Toyota came out as we walked past it to look at the used Toyotas and said "I promised you a drive in it last year, fill out an insurance form and here is the key."
He too said about leaving the traction control on. So as soon I pulled away the sport mode button was pushed (I know my limits and there was no way you could mess up badly in this car on a dry day unless you were an absolute tool.)
My thoughts being it would be absolutely lovely car to drive on a day to day basis. I liked the engine it felt nice and smooth and it was very well specced, albeit a little plasticky and red alcantara on the seating wasn't to my liking.
If I had a spare £25k (which I don't) then I could see myself swapping my S2000 for one.
One thing that was quite cool was seeing a 1985 2.8 Supra (Original shape) and a '94 UK spec Celica GT-Four at the dealership - They had a "sale event" on - although absolutely no punters were there and the sales director had left them outside to tempt people in. Although I imagine most people who go to Toyota are interested in Yaris' and Prius'...

I think it's more likely we are looking at the next RX8
anyone remember the fun we had with promised/predicted residuals for those?
that's worth two of these

The rx8 was an Arabs wet dream, guzzling the black stuff and bang juice and then falling apart
But nothing new holds its value now
