yes, no sooner will the roads be clear of snow, than the inevitable pot hole explosion will occur. I tend to slalom on some roads just to avoid them! Sorry, crotch, slightly off topic!

I phoned the council yesterday and I am waiting for a reply from highways but they haven't bothered to return the call.

Why do people brake when kids throw snowballs ?

We had a real laugh yesterday watching the local kids having snowball fights, and then lobbing balls at passing vans etc. (not that there was much traffic)

Most people took it well but a few felt the need to stop their vehicles and start shouting ??. Its only a bit of snow.... miserable gits.

Sorry you were caught by it CR, pain in the ass with all the paperwork etc. Hope its all sorted soon

I was talking to the police the other day and this 'whole duty to ensure' is a minefield. the council had told them that they are duty bound to keep m-ways, A roads and certain bus routes open. They could argue that it is impractical to try to maintain all highways free of ice/snow as

a. they've run out of grit due to poor supply
b. they do not have enough gritters, drivers, hours in the day to do all roads.

It's a cop out but it's the real world too and everyone is feeling the pinch to Gordon Browns government cock-ups. So technically it's Gordons fault you had your accident. So you will be able to get one over on him when you vote for another party in the next election.

Payback is sweet.

Also like the idea of the drive by snowballing as well but you could consider just running them down and blaming them for frightening you when you had been pelted causing you to slam your foot on the accelerator.
