Halfords....
Went to buy a little trolley jack yesterday, had checked on line - £29.99 for a 2T job.
Went in to the shop, £37.99.
Checked priced via my phone, and mentioned it at the checkout.
Doris says "that's the reserve & collect price".
So used my phone, reserved & collected at the same time & got it for t'internet price.
Only £8 off, but better than nothing.

Same here on a head-unit - £70 difference though, and what was even more irritating was that I had reserved it for collection but was a day late. But since they didn't argue one iota, I guess it happens all the time.
Top tip Dan.
I've have one of these jacks myself for over 9 years now and it's still going strong. Bit of a pain that you need to lift the S up with the scissor jack first before you can get this one underneath and raise the car with it.

Yeah I work in the bike hut section on a sunday and reserve and collect is a strange one. Can get some massive savings on certain items.
Guess its to get you into the store to collect your item and then you'll browse around and buy more.

It's actually pretty clever.
I have been exploiting this for years, but it's still a clever model.
Basically, it's to capitalise on impulse buyers.
they know that people who browse the web will search for the cheapest price, so they have to compete.
However, those that walk into the store, pick up the item and pay are happily exploited.
Caputure the savvy, exploit the stupid.

a low entry jack wasnt worth the £80 premium over a normal one.
