this is a MY95 i think.

this is a MY95 i think.

Specifically, the widebodied 993 - C2S, C4S and Turbo.
There are plenty of high-mileage unloved dogs around but equally it's perfectly possible to buy a well-looked after one that should not give you any real problems.
The widebodied 993s command quite a premium over the normal ones - and because it's a comparatively uncommon car (at least compared to the later 996 shape 911), the residuals are still holding up comparatively well.
(There's a REAL bunfight between 911 owners as to whether the 993, the last of the "proper" air-cooled 911s is better than the more modern more powerful water-cooled 996s. Think S2000 MY99 "original" -v- MY04 "softie" debate and then magnify it by about 100 times
)It remains to be seen what the influx of used 997s over the next year or so might do to them though.

Here's a dilemma for you all, a mate of mine is about to start a new job at Porsche and can have any current Porsche as his company car (except the Carrera GT!).
What would you have?
What would you have?
wishing I had the equivalent job at Ferrari
Ive intended to buy a Porker on both occassions I ended up buying an S - on both occassions I couldnt quite stretch to a Boxster S. Next time however I will stretch above and probably jump Porker ownership for a Noble or TVR, if not a 911 GT3

would buying one that old be a bit dodgy or do they generally run and run?

Until you drive a Porsche you don't really know how slow the s2000 really is
