Default Has VW lost the plot with the new R32?

I cant beleive that the new R32 is so expensive, around 34k with options. Back in 2004 I paid 24.5k for my new R32. so the price has risen by around 40% in six years!!!!
It looks pretty lame.

Is there still an R32? I thought the GTI-R or whatever it's called is the new 4WD beast?

I really like the look of the new Golf R, but yes £35k is far too steep.

Evo did a nice comparison on the Mk II Rallye & the R this month - amazing how many similarities they have

Are they limiting production of the new R?
Mind you at 35k they wont need too as the price will do it for them!

If £34,000 is too rich, there's always the Mini John Cooper Works Championship 50
at £33,000...

Traditionally the S3 used to be the premium product but if 28k is the list for the S3 and 32k is the list for R then I wonder why the pricing has changed?

I would have thought they would have priced the VW to be between the Skoda Hot Hatch and the Audi s-line jobby.

Maybe it’s just a supply and demand thing.
They know some people will pay through the nose for the car because of the branding.
